We are going to start off this list by recommending somewhere off the main tourist path! Rue Cremieux is the most colorful street in Paris and certainly less visited than other more famous sites. Unless you are a full-time Instagrammer, you may not have even heard of Rue Cremieux. 

Rue Cremieux is a lovely little street lined with the most adorable and charming colored houses you have ever seen! If you have been to London, it reminds us of Notting Hill and if you have been to San Francisco, it reminds us of the Painted Ladies!

Rue Cremieux is in the far east part of Paris and it really isn’t by the main sites so if you want to see this colorful Parisian street, you are going to have to make sure to put it on your itinerary. As far as charming streets in Paris go, Rue Cremieux and its colorful houses top the list for us.

When visiting Rue Cremieux, keep in mind that this is a residential area and these adorable colored buildings are where people live. Please be respectful and quiet of their environment.

Closest Metro Stops: Rue Cremieux is very close to Gare de Lyon metro stop so if you can get yourself to that stop, you are just a few steps away.

There are many metro stops around Rue Cremieux so make sure you input your starting destination in the event there is an easier way then transitting to Gare de Lyon. Otherwise, Gare de Lyon is one of the largest metro stops in Paris and it is easy to find Rue Cremieux from it so it is a good bet!

On Rue Saint-Vincent You Stroll Past Ivey Covered Walls And A Vineyard

Rue Saint-Vincent is one of the streets in Paris that is a true hidden gem. You will rarely see any tourists or even Instagrammers nearby, but it is beautiful and totally worth a stop.

 Rue Saint-Vincent is located in Montmartre in the north of Paris and is a cobble-stoned Parisian street lined by a wall of ivy.

On one part of the street, the ivy hangs down and covers several lamp posts that are along the street. In summer the ivy is vibrant and green, but in fall, the ivy pops to life with vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges.

If you continue to wander along Rue Saint-Vincent, you will come to a hidden secret, Paris’ oldest vineyard! This vineyard is right along the road and while small, it is so cute and a wonderful little gem tucked away along one of the prettiest streets in Paris.

Rue Cler Is One Of The Best Streets In Paris To Live Like A Local

Rue Cler is our favorite street to stay near in Paris. If at all possible, we like to find accommodation close to Rue Cler which is one of the best shopping streets in Paris. This little street is home to Rue Cler market which is one of the most famous markets in all of Paris.

Even though it is well-known, it is not buzzing with tons of tourists and has much more of a local vibe.

It is lined with grocery stores, food stands, little shops, gelato, and more. Rue Cler is the Paris street that locals go for lunch and all stand in line to pick up their favorite meal midday and it is where they go at night to grab something from the grocery store on the way home from work.

Rue Cler is also lined with many cafes and a few bars. If you want to go to a pastry shop or outdoor grocery, keep in mind that the shops close early. If you want to experience this little street in Paris, we recommend getting there before 7 pm if possible.

You will want to go when all the shops are open and they start closing down quickly after 7 at night. The best time to go is in the daytime or early evening so you can get a real feel of the relaxed atmosphere of one of the cutest shopping streets in Paris.

Rue Galande Is The Quintessential Paris Street

If you are looking for that picture-perfect street in Paris, Rue Galande is the place you are going to want to visit! We have never seen it mentioned on any other guide to Paris which is a shame because it is so beautiful and cute!

If you are want to walk along the quintessential European avenue, Rue Galande needs to make your list of things to see in Paris.

Luckily, Rue Galande is very well located and super close to the famous Notre Dame. In fact, you can even see Notre Dame from across the river when you are on parts of Rue Galande. Our favorite view on Rue Galande is of the Odette pastry shop.

This shop and the neighboring building are nestled into a corner on Rue Galande, just like an afterthought. lt is such a cool bit of architecture and if you are looking to visit Odette, we highly recommend staying longer to stroll down one of the most perfect streets in Paris!

Closest metro stops: The closest metro stops to Rue Galande are either Saint-Michel – Notre-Dame or Cluny – La Sorbonn. Both are about an equal distance away from Rue Galande so if you want to visit this Paris street don’t worry about choosing one over the other! Just go with whichever is closest to you!

Rue de l’Abreuvoir Is Home To Pretty In Pink Parisian Buildings

Rue de l’Abreuvoir is home to La Mansion Rose, one of the most photographed pink buildings in the world. People flock to La Mansion Rose, but many don’t walk down another one of the most charming streets in Paris. 

Rue de l’Abreuvoir is home to another pink building in addition to La Mansion Rose as well as other ivy-covered homes and little French buildings. Rue de l’Abreuvoir is truly one of the best streets in Paris to marvel at many different types of cute French buildings as there are a great variety that line the street.

If you walk to the end of Rue de l’Abreuvoir, you will see Buste de Dalida. If you walk all the way to this bust and turn around and look back up Rue de l’Abreuvoir where you just came from [if you started at La Mansion Rose] and you will see a wonderful postcard view of Sacré-Cœur up on the hill in the background.

The view from the end of this Paris street is perfect in every way and we highly recommend walking the whole street so you can capture this wonderful memory. The street can be quite busy so if you want to go for photography purposes, we recommend going early in the morning or later at night.

Closest metro stop: Lamarck – Caulaincourt is the closest metro stop to Rue de l’Abreuvoir. If you are exploring the nearby area and happen to get off at another metro stop, it is still possible to visit this street in Paris you may just have to walk about 0.5 miles and the walk may be a bit steep.

When visiting the pretty pink houses along on one of the cutest streets in Paris, it is best to get off at the Lamarck – Caulaincourt stop for easiest access.

Rue Saint-Dominique Combines Pastries And Eiffel Tower Views

Rue Saint-Dominique is one of the best streets in Paris to get a photo-worthy view of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. As you wander along this charming Paris street, the Eiffel Tower will pop out in the distance as a constant reminder that you are indeed still in Paris.

Rue Saint-Dominique is another one of our favorite streets in Paris to stay near, after Rue Cler, and is home to some of the best pastry shops in the city. We go back to Rue Saint-Dominique on every trip and even have our favorite pastry shops along the street that we frequent so we can attest that they are worth the trip!

Rue Saint-Dominique spans from Invalides all the way to the Champs De Mars and is a great street for bike riding or walking along. It is a bit longer than some of the other streets in Paris recommended here, so you can spend as long as an hour exploring this street.

If you are looking for shops, Rue Saint-Dominique is also home to some great shopping options, from a great tea shop, to the best cheese shops in Paris, this street will not disappoint!

Avenue de Camoens Is One Of The Short But Sweet Paris Streets With A View

Looking for a unique Eiffel Tower view? Look no further than Avenue de Camoens! This is one of the shorter streets in Paris included on this list, but it is no less charming than any other recommendations! 

Avenue de Camoens ends with a lovely view of the Eiffel Tower before the short street turns into a stairwell to descend down a steep hill to another road below. Avenue de Camoens was actually right near where we stayed on our very first trip to Paris so we can attest it is one of the best streets in Paris with a view.

Avenue de Camoens is a great place to take photos of the Eiffel Tower, especially during sunrise or sunset. If you can’t manage to visit during these times of day, this is still one of the best streets in Paris to visit for unique views of the Eiffel Tower.

If you want true Parisian charm, bring lunch and relax overlooking the view. You will have to stand at the railing, but it is totally worth it!

Closest metro stop: Passy is the closest metro stop to Avenue de Camoens. Passy was actually our “home” metro stop during our very first trip to Paris and it is a very short walk to this cute and short street in Paris!

Rue Norvins Is One Of The Cutest Streets In Paris To Shop For Local Art

If you are looking to shop for local art, dine out in an open-air cafe, and wander near some of the prettiest sites in Paris, Rue Norvins is one of the best streets in Paris to visit! It is home to many local artists selling their wares, both in small shops and on the street corner.

Unlike other more touristy parts of Paris, the artists who sell along Rue Norvins are the actual creators of the art. You will see them sitting right next to their easel painting or drawing as you walk along one of the most artistic streets of Paris.

At one end of Rue Norvins lies Le Consulat, one of the most picturesque and famous cafes in the city. If you are into photography or Instagram, this is a great spot for pictures. Once you photograph Le Consulat, continue to walk along Rue Norvins toward Sacré-Cœur.

You will pass many shops and cafes that line one of the most perfect Paris streets. The cobblestones add to the magical flare. Rue Norvins is especially magical in the evening, as all the lights come on and street musicians come out to serenade those who wander.

Closest metro stops: The closest metro stops to Rue Norvins are either Abbesses or Lamarck – Caulaincourt, depending on where you are before you visit one of the most artistic streets in Paris. If you get off on Abbesses, understand there will be a steep walk up a hill to get to Rue Norvins but it is one of the best Paris streets so the walk will be worth it!

Square Rapp Is One Of Our Favorite Secret Streets In Paris

Shhh! Don’t tell anyone! Square Rapp is virtually undiscovered and one of the best secret streets in Paris. It is the shortest one of the Paris streets suggested on this list, but the view and location can’t be beaten.

Who doesn’t love a secret view of the Eiffel Tower that isn’t overrun by tourists? Since we are telling you the secret, you have to promise us to be respectful so that those who live nearby aren’t put out.

The best view comes from the end of Square Rapp where there is a small garden area. Go in the garden area, turn around, and you will get an unobstructed view of the Eiffel Tower. This is a view that not many people get to see even though this Paris street is so near other famous locations.

Closest metro stops: The thing about being one of the secret streets in Paris is that Square Rapp isn’t exactly super close to any metro stops. It isn’t exactly far either, but you are going to have to walk a bit to find it. The closest metro stops to Square Rapp are either Gare du Pont de l’Alma or École Militaire.

At the time of writing, Gare du Pont de l’Alma is currently under construction. We will update when it is back up and running! If you want to visit Square Rapp via metro, you are going to have to take École Militaire and walk that way.

Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni Takes You Over The Most Beautiful Bridge In Paris

Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni is the only street in Paris that takes you across the cities most beautiful bridge! Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni starts at Invalides and crosses over Pont Alexandre III bridge before turning into Avenue Winston Churchill. 

Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni is the busiest one of the streets in Paris suggested here, but it is still quite charming.

The walk along Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni takes you past Esplanade des Invalides which is lined by rows of pretty trees. Esplanade des Invalides is especially beautiful in the fall and springtime when the leaves change and the flowers bloom.

As you continue north along Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni, you will cross over Pont Alexandre III which is a gorgeous gold-encrusted bridge. It is also the prettiest and most elaborate bridge in Paris. Pont Alexandre III also provides unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower as you cross it.

The view over the Seine coupled with the Eiffel Tower in the distance and the tree-lined park make Avenue du Maréchal Gallieni easily one of the most charming streets in Paris.

Here are some of our favorite items that you should consider packing for your trip to Paris! These are essential travel items that we use and love and you should make sure to consider for your travels.

A concealed travel pouch may be one of the most important items you bring with you! This unisex RFID blocking concealed travel pouch is lightweight and comes in several colors. It has lots of organization to give you peace of mind. You can keep your most valuable documents safe and secure next to your body.

If you have a pouch already you may not want to or need to invest in a new one. If it does not come with the RFID protection, these RFID sleeves would be handy to prevent identity theft. This configuration comes with enough passport and credit card sleeves that the entire family would be protected. They are slim too, so they will easily fit into your current pouch or wallet. These are the kind our family uses not only when traveling but at home as well.

If you have a camera on your packing list, you need to add additional memory cards on your list as well. Unless you are packing a computer for your trip, you will not be able to upload photos and clear your existing memory card. Purchasing additional memory cards cost under $20 and take up no space in your luggage. Having a backup can have the potential to save you a lot of heartaches if something goes awry! There is nothing worse than coming across that perfect moment and then finding out you don’t have enough space to capture it on your camera!

Similarly, If you are planning to capture your trip on a smartphone, we beg you to bring some way to back up your memories. The best way to do this is with a portable smartphone flash drive. A flash drive is a small storage device that you can connect up to your smartphone and then safely and easily download the photos onto this device.

If you are planning on taking a lot of pictures with your phone you will definitely want to consider an external charging battery.
